We can apply for legal aid to assist you in meeting the costs of advice or representation. You can find out in advance if you are eligible for legal aid by checking the SLAB website http://www.slab.org.uk/ If you are not eligible for legal aid, we offer a competitive rate. We pride ourselves in keeping the cost to you down through our efficient and solution-focused approach.
We also offer certain services on a fixed fee basis, please ask for individual quotes dependant on your needs.
Here are a few examples of fixed fee services we offer:-
Powers of Attorney - £300 plus VAT or £ 500 plus VAT for 2 people (including home visits within the Edinburgh area)
Undefended divorce - £800 plus VAT plus outlays
1 hour initial consultation - £200 plus VAT
We will also take on some cases on a speculative basis, please get in touch to discuss this with us.
If English is not your first language, we can arrange an interpreter.
'Pay as you go'– Do you want to negotiate your separation/care arrangements for your children yourself without unnecessary paperwork from your solicitor while retaining the option to take advice if and when you need it? We offer a unique service for those who wish to keep control of their own case but want to take advice along the way to keep them on the right track without additional paperwork. For this service we offer a reduced hourly rate of £150 per hour plus VAT, payable before each consultation.
We can also offer you an urgent appointment where you have been served with court proceedings. Evening and weekend appointments for an additional fee are available if you are unable to meet with us during office hours due to work commitments.
In light of the current coronavirus pandemic we would like to reassure you all that our solicitors can still be contacted by telephone or email as below during normal office hours. We continue to offer appointments to both new and existing clients, by telephone, in order to provide you with advice in respect of any child, family or mental health law enquiries you may have. We will continue to represent you in courts and tribunals and are monitoring the situation in respect of the operation of those closely. We remain committed to offering representation for urgent court, children’s hearings, and tribunal hearings, both to existing and new clients.
